Royal Caribbean Group’s Data Analytics and AI Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Data Analyst reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Solutions Engineering.

This role will work in-person in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary

The Data Analyst plays a key role in the creation of datasets for business consumption. Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs. Document requirements, define scope and objectives to understand data and analysis needs. Partner with development and data management roles to identify and capture data required from internal and external sources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of data
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Analyze raw data and provide requirements to the development team for the creation of new datasets in accordance with business requirements
  • Design and implement data models for reporting and analytics.
  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts; lead feedback sessions with stakeholders
  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and development team
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Organizing and performing user acceptance testing
  • Provide information and recommendations to leadership on both regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Uses data visualization programs, tools and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance

Qualifications

  • Batchelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with data manipulation, data profiling, database design and interpretation skills
  • Possess a high level of business acumen in order to work with business owners and deliver analysis that leads to business actions
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as PowerBI and Tableau
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts, experience working with databases, database management tools, ERD and SQL
  • Experience with graph databases and query languages a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Experience with Agile software development preferred

  • Experience with SQL and Excel
  • Familiar with relational database concepts and client-server concepts
  • Ability to reengineer data models with or without documentation
  • Experience with BI Tools, such as Power BI or Tableau preferred
  • Experience with cloud solutions a plus
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration abilities in addition to technical depth
  • Experience with consumer data, hospitality or cruise industry a plus
  • Comfortable delivering within an agile program
