Responsibilities/Duties
- Must have knowledge of civil works and building construction since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adhering to the contract, project plans and specifications
- Perform and support three-phase inspection system
- Provide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on-site day in sufficient detail
- Review and analysis of construction contractor progress
- Ensure safety requirements are met including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements
- Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.
- Review of design, comment logging and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawings
- Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment
- Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule
- Maintain an Inspectors Site Inspection Report
- Assist in response for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change orders
- Participate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and check that all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment.
- High School diploma is required or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
- Or, Associate Degree (two-year degree) / Technical Training Degree (two years of training) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
- Or Bachelor of Science Degree and at least 3 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
- Experience in Resident Management System (RMS), preferred
- Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirements
- Demonstrates experience with performing the following duties: quality assurance inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reports
- Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers
- Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
