The role is constantly analyzing construction processes and budgets to seek continued streamlined improvement while reducing costs. The director leads the field construction team supporting through training, development, performance management, while managing staffing needs.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential:
- Ensure Construction Managers are operating at an outstanding level making homebuyer contact points, communicating with homebuyers, sales, and trade partners, and resolving construction and warranty issues which support high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with divisional and regional leadership on build strategy while acting as a liaison for CMs in the field to achieve construction goals and assure seamless implementation and execution of divisional strategies.
- Maintain a master schedule and weekly production report for key phases of construction to ensure contractor availability and even flow construction.
- Continually review and value engineer plan reviewing for accuracy and completeness; make recommendations for improvements/changes.
- Ensure CM’s maintain the established standards for the community regarding cleanliness, safety and appearance, (i.e. accessibility to homes, erosion control, street cleaning,) while ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Monitor CM relationships and management of trade partners, making sure that there is a high level of communication and accountability to the scope of work and resolution in disputes.
- Review buyer satisfaction surveys, analyze for trends and implement solutions that improve customer satisfaction scores and respond to reduce homeowner issues.
- Develop strong trade partner relationships while gaining an understanding of ability and challenges and ensure all homes stay on schedule.
- Conduct periodic inspections of all homes under construction in assigned area; inspect all aspects of construction including foundation, framing, stucco installations, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree; emphasis in construction management preferred
- General Contractors License is Required. If not already held, obtaining the license will be required once hired.
- Ten (10) years homebuilding industry experience
- Seven (7) years construction leadership experience
- Seven (7) years experience managing trade partners
- Multiple jobsite management
- Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Advanced training in one or more trades
- Knowledge of homebuilding and construction systems/processes specification, and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction plans
- Strong experience with BuildPro
- Strong experience using iPad and applications.
