POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Application Training Specialist is responsible for training and educational support of non-provider clinical staff, including nurses, therapists, and allied health professionals, in their use of clinical applications with an emphasis on the Epic electronic health record (EHR). The Clinical Application Training Specialist works primarily in the classroom setting to support Epic-led training and ensure training aligns with patient care workflows bridging the knowledge gap between Epic's foundational curriculum and organizational practices. The Clinical Application Training Specialist also maintains the Epic SuperUser program, develops curricula and delivers training for non-Epic clinical applications, and contribute to application optimization efforts, benefiting clinicians with practical, hands-on experience in patient care and clinical workflows.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must reside within a one-hour driving distance of our Rockledge, Florida office and be willing to commute as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Accountabilites
- Facilitates Epic-led and supplemental training for non-provider clinical staff.
- Assists with go-live, post-live, and update support, ensuring a seamless transition to new systems.
- Partners with clinical departments to ensure workflows are incorporated correctly into training.
- Builds customer rapport and serve as the liaison between IT and customer regarding clinical application use.
- Collaborates with User Provisioning to ensure appropriate training and facilitation of rapid provisioning upon training completion.
- Maintains the Epic SuperUser Program, including assisting in the development and maintenance of clinical application-related tip sheets and quick-reference materials.
- Upholds accurate communication around training schedules and completion reports.
- Participates in the IT Change Management process as it relates to changes with clinical application use.
- Tracks training attendance and competency results, providing reports to stakeholders as needed.
- Manages clinical application training rooms, training environments, and hardware.
- Participates in and represents the department in organization-wide committees and meetings, including sharing trends and advances in application training and electronic health records.
- Partners with other IATE specialists to support interdisciplinary learning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Education, or relevant field.
- Work Experience: Three (3) years of Allied Health, Informatics, or Clinical Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group or Acute Care.
- Licensure: None
- Certification: Epic certified within six (6) months of start date.
- Work Experience In Lieu of Education: Six (6) years of Allied Health, Informatics, or Clinical Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group or Acute Care.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse healthcare environment.
- Strong professional verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly enunciate and convey information.
- Able to work independently, interdependently, and collaboratively
- Able to handle stress and dynamic work situations to meet customer needs and deadlines.
- Able to prepare educational materials in a timely, professional manner.
- Able to effectively function as a facilitator.
- Work Experience: Prior experience in a clinical or application education, including the development of training materials, delivering virtual training or supporting virtual learning environments, and facilitating live training in a small classroom setting.
- Licensure: Licensed Allied Health Professional (e.g., RN, LPN, PT, RD, etc.).
- Certification: Epic certification(s) in relevant modules (e.g., ClinDoc, Beacon).
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
