Behavior Analyst (Psychological Assistant III) - Adolescent Services - (24000A1U)
Description
The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), is seeking a dynamic Behavior Analyst to play an essential role in the holistic treatment of individuals served. You will utilize your expertise to conduct thorough functional behavior assessments (FBA) and translate findings into actionable strategies that enhance behavioral interventions. Your responsibilities extend beyond analysis to the development, implementation, and monitoring of evidence-based behavioral treatments, integrating seamlessly with psychopharmacological and occupational therapies. Amidst challenging situations, you will provide crucial support and direction, fostering a culture of positive behavioral support (PBS) rooted in Applied Behavioral Analysis principles.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service, and 30 adolescents on the ACCU.

"Applicants must have at least (A) a Master's degree in psychology or related field and at least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in the application of psychological principles and techniques in a recognized agency providing psychological services or treatment, after the acquisition of the Master's degree, * or (B) A Doctorate in Psychology."

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Provide clinical evaluations (such as indirect/direct FBA, systematic preference assessment, etc.) and systemic assessment of treatment integrity in the context of available resources in service of developing evidence-based treatment recommendations (such as data collection, behavior support plan, PICA management plan, etc.) for clients at WRCH.
- Establish rapport with clients and staff directly by modeling and teaching functionally-informed replacement behaviors and/or self-regulation skills in a manner accessible to all those involved.
- Synthesize treatment effectiveness across behavioral, nursing, OT, and PT disciplines to inform psychopharmacological intervention through the Medication Review Committee (MRC) process (such as developing and disseminating the MRC schedule, reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting clinical data, and disseminating completed MRC report).
- Participate in the disciplinary review of clinical recommendations and behavioral treatment to establish and refine best practices for both WRCH Psychology Department and Regional Peer Review.
- Work collaboratively with multiple interdisciplinary teams that include families/guardians.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analytic research.
- Ability to oversee a difficult caseload of complex individuals.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.
