The Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Outreach will lead fan engagement, game day experience, ticket revenue growth, and brand visibility.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
For Assistant Athletic Director
- Manage day-to-day operations of marketing and ticketing under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Develop and carry out marketing campaigns, digital content, and promotions to enhance fan engagement and attendance.
- Create and implement ticket sales initiatives—including group sales, promotions, and single-game ticket campaigns—in collaboration with the College Park Center Box Office.
- Oversee game presentation logistics such as in-game promotions, music, and run-of-show scripts.
- Plan and support themed nights, cause-based promotions, and group experiences.
- Outreach efforts to campus partners and local organizations to promote events and programs.
- Supervise part-time and student employees, providing training and feedback.
- Assist with budget tracking and analyze sales data to evaluate and improve initiatives.
- Provide overall vision and direction for the marketing and ticketing units, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and long-term growth initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing, promotional, and branding strategies across multiple platforms to expand UTA Athletics’ visibility and community presence.
- Direct all ticket sales efforts—including season, mini-plan, group, and single-game sales—while overseeing the AXS platform and collaborating with the College Park Center Box Office.
- Oversee all aspects of game presentation for ticketed sports, including scripting, in-game promotions, music selection, and run-of-show planning.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with campus units (Student Affairs, Spirit Groups, Band, Housing) and community organizations to build strong fan connections.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate full-time, part-time, and student employees within marketing and ticketing.
- Manage unit budgets, analyze CRM/ticketing data, and leverage insights to refine marketing and sales strategies.
- Assistant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in sports marketing and/or ticket sales.
- Associate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business, or related field.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in sports marketing and ticketing.
- Five (5) or more years of staff supervision.
- At least two (2) years of leadership experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing, ticketing, or external operations
- Masters degree.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience leading game presentation, fan experience, and promotional campaigns.
- Proven ability to manage staff, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in building campus/community outreach and engagement programs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and CRM/ticketing platforms.
- Familiar with event scripting, email marketing, and digital campaigns.
- Understanding of collegiate licensing, branding, and retail integration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Requires both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather (heat, humidity, cold)
- Physically demanding: extended standing/walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.
