Job Summary: 

Assistant Controller will provide administrative support to the Office of Greenstone Electrical Services Controller and assist with day-to-day financial operations as needed.   

Reports To

Controller

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

None 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Finance

  • Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records. 
  • Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately. 
  • Enters journal entries to debit and credit the company’s accounts.
  • Generates accounting and audit reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses. 
  • Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 Admin

  • Answer phones, transfer calls to appropriate parties, and manage messages.
  • Type correspondence and other documents.
  • Perform receptionist duties by greeting and assisting visitors.
  • Copy, scan, and mail documents.
  • Assist with organizing and setting up meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Maintain and update digital and paper file systems.
  • Conduct office errands and deliveries.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis. 
  • Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data. 
  • Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree with accounting coursework preferred. 
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience required, preferably in the financial industry. 

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
