Assembler Lead
Primary Summary
It is the responsibility of the Leads to assist directing associates in the performance of their tasks to support the business enterprise in attaining its mission and specific business objectives. These individuals are also responsible for following all safety procedures and guidelines, assisting and instructing peers in the successful completion of their tasks and maintaining all appropriate records.
In meeting this charter, these individuals will perform these duties with a high degree of quality consciousness and sensitivity to specification and work method requirements. A high degree of discretion and personal judgment will be used in diagnosing problems; identifying corrective action, scope of task, and selection of work methods; and researching necessary information and equipment to accomplish the required task. Such duties include, but are not limited to, the following essential job functions:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- On a production basis, performs precision mechanical assembly work, which is typically of high complexity and/or requires fitting, alignment, and the adjustment of components, units, and assemblies to very close tolerances.
- Performs integrated next-level assembly work on machined/fabricated aerospace parts at a floor station.
- Assembles fabricated parts at a floor station using and or performing: Riveting, Cold Working, Nut Plates, Bearings, Bushings, Cold Bonding, Fabricating and installing Shims, Sealing, Bucking/Squeezing Rivets and Grounding Blocks for integrated next-level assemblies.
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Ensures conformance to established procedures and quality level of Arden Engineering's Quality Policy and conformance to Customer Engineering and Specifications.
- Ensures safe work habits and environment.
- Monitor workers on site during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics and safety procedures
- Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality
- Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards obtainable in the industry
- Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards
- Check finished products to ensure quality and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use
- Keep records of equipment budgets deliveries and supplies and make them available to management for evaluation
- Create work schedule for workers and ensure that they are strictly adhere to it; take attendance to ensure regularity and promptness of workers to duty
- Work as middleman between workers and management to create healthy communication
- Develop production schedule for the execution of projects in a timely manner
- Ensure that work materials are present as needed.
- Accomplishes various production assembly functions that are somewhat complicated in nature.
- Assembles products or sub-assemblies according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications using jigs and templates when required.
- Positions parts in specified relationship to each other under extremely close tolerance conditions.
- Fastens parts together using an Orbital Riveting machine.
- Loads and unloads previously setup machines such as arbor presses, drill presses and milling machines.
- Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Trouble-shoots and reworks production items that do not meet specifications.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- Some degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to meet certain certifications in field.
- Requires at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area of precision mechanical assembly experience.
- Working knowledge of shop math and geometry.
- The ability to read and interpret complex drawings and documents for machined parts and assemblies highly desired.
- Preferred experience in Riveting, Cold Working, Nut Plates, Bearings, Bushings, Cold Bonding, Fabricating and installing Shims, Sealing, Bucking/Squeezing Rivets and including but not limited to Grounding Blocks for integrated next-level assemblies.
- Preferred knowledgeable in the use of various power-hand tools, drills, jigs, templates, boring and bucking equipment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with others with a positive attitude.
- Standard safety training.
- Ability to drive and operate a forklift.
