We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at our Centre in Worcester.
Reporting to Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead, the Assistant Psychologist will help support the delivery of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention to adults with acquired brain injury and progressive neurological conditions, working as a member of the multidisciplinary , under the supervision of the neuropsychologist.

- You will assist the Clinical/Neuropsychologist to conduct and develop a range of complex Neuropsychological assessments and evaluations, implement relevant interventions and develop rehabilitation programmes of residents that have brain, stroke and spinal cord injuries, complex neurological disorders and progressive neurological conditions.
- You will be required to use your skills communicate sensitive and sometimes challenging information to residents, their relatives, their support workers/carers and friends ensuring that you manage adverse reactions safely.
- You will give expert neuro-psychological advice and support to other professionals, helping with residents' diagnoses and treatment plans, so you can make informed decisions that consider complex factors.
- You will be required to undertake risk assessments relating to cognition and behaviour and devise guidelines and management plans for the rest of the team to follow.
For This Role, You'll Have
- Demonstrable experience of working within a related setting as an assistant psychologist.
- Have an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with neurological problems and possess experience of working with challenging behaviour.
- Experience of using psychological approaches for individual based therapy or group based therapy.
- Have an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with neurological problems.
- Has an understanding of the needs and difficulties of adults across the age spectrum.
- Has an ability to apply existing theoretical knowledge to a neuropsychological context
- Commitment to make a real difference to the lives of our patients.
- Excellent communications skills, a great attitude to teamwork and a desire to lead on patient care.
