The position involves working on projects throughout California but especially in the Central Valley and/or Bay Area. As part of our multidisciplinary project teams, you will have an important role supporting tasks and projects; preparing permit applications and providing regulatory strategy; and working as part of our dynamic team to solve an array of water and environmental issues critical to California’s environmental, water, and energy landscape.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
A minimum of 5 years conducting aquatic resources delineations in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards is required. This position is open for hybrid/remote work opportunities and includes the following responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
A minimum of 5 years conducting aquatic resources delineations in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards is required. This position is open for hybrid/remote work opportunities and includes the following responsibilities:
- Lead aquatic resources delineations in accordance with appropriate regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare aquatic resources reports.
- Peer review delineation reports and QC field and spatial data.
- Maintain up-to date knowledge of aquatic resource regulations.
- Use desktop resources to preliminarily assess aquatic resources in a project area.
- Prepare field equipment, plan field logistics, and provide oversight of survey implementation and data management.
- Participating in meetings and phone calls with regulatory agencies;
- Actively participate in multi-disciplinary teamwork with biologists, planners, landscape architects, restoration ecologists, and engineers.
- B.S. in biology, ecology, environmental science, environmental management, or a closely related scientific field.
- Proficiency in plant identification.
- Lead author of aquatic resources delineation reports.
- A minimum experience of 5 years conducting aquatic resources delineations using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wetland delineation manuals.
- A minimum of 2 years experience leading aquatic resources delineations.
- Experience collecting and reviewing data using ESRI products such as FieldMaps ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, and/or ArcGIS Pro.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including providing clear direction and effectively communicating in meetings.
- Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork in inclement conditions.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Completed the Society of Wetland Scientists approved 40-hour wetland delineation course or comparable course.
- Wetland Professional In Training or Professional Wetland Scientist certification.
- Project management experience.
- Experience in tidal delineation.
