Job Purpose
Join our dynamic leadership team as the Vice President of Programs, where you will drive strategic initiatives and oversee the development and execution of innovative programs that align with our organizational goals. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing the standards for program management at Leonardo Electronics US Inc. (LEI), which includes program planning to support proposals and during execution for U.S. DoD and prime contractor customers. Lead Program Managers in the P&Ls, matrixed to the LEI VP Programs, focusing on their professional development, standard establishment, and program/proposal reviews. Specifically, the VP of Programs will ensure clear standards for program management are in place and that the staff assigned to execute and support this function are adequately trained, equipped with the right tools/systems, and continuously improving in delivering on our commitments to customers and the business. The candidate should demonstrate a creative, proactive approach to program risk management and mitigation.

Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all programmatic activities and initiatives.
- Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and priorities in alignment with organizational strategy.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs to ensure effectiveness and impact.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to allocate resources and set budgets for program operations.
- Foster partnerships and build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Monitor program performance metrics and provide regular reports to the executive team and board of directors.
- Identify opportunities for program innovation and growth to enhance service delivery and reach.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies across all programs.
- Lead and mentor program directors and managers to cultivate a high-performing team.
- Advocate for the organization's mission and programs in public forums and with key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement processes to enhance program quality and outcomes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate program activities with organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and best practices to inform program strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- 20+ years of experience in RADAR and Electronic Warfare development and Platform Integration.
- 20 + years of proven experience in a senior leadership role and managing engineering development and systems integration programs.
- Strong professional experience in subcontractor management/oversight.
- Deep knowledge of program finance, budget management, and financial oversight
- Expert in program risk management, familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the US aerospace industry.
- Strong track record of successfully managing and scaling complex programs.
- Exceptional strategic planning and execution skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, ability to foster cross-departmental collaboration and build strong relationships.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in change management and organizational development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Committed to working to build and sustain an inclusive work environment.
- Active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
