Position Summary
The Vice President for Finance and Administration is an executive-level leader responsible for the strategic oversight of all financial and administrative functions of the organization. This role provides mission-driven and visionary leadership, leveraging business analytics and data-informed decision-making to advance the organization’s mission and long-term impact.
Vice President for Finance and Administration is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for leading the organization’s fiscal function in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, General Conference and North American Division of Seventh Day Adventists Working Policies and guidance and financial management practices appropriate to not-for-profit organizations. Vice President for Finance and Administration plays a vital role in strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations, as well as managing administrative operations like human resources, information technology, and facilities.

Compensation
- Full-time exempt position with benefits
- Remuneration Range: 93-110% ($88K - $105K annually)

Essential Job Functions
Financial Management:
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure the organization's financial health and stability
- Direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
- Provide oversight to the accounting process performed by the General Conference Treasury.
- Authorize expenditure in accordance with established Hope Channel Procurement Policies and procedures.
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements and other Financial Reports.
- Coordinate the annual audit of Financial Statements.
- Enhance and/or develop and implement financial policies, internal control and procedures of the organization.
- Provide strategic financial management input on issues affecting the organization including financial position, risk management, investments and other related issues.
- Oversee Human Resources operations including staffing, performance management, benefits administration, and organizational development.
- Lead administrative services and internal documentation processes in alignment with best practices in governance, compliance, and efficiency.
- Ensure sound records management and policy implementation across all departments.
- Leads in the areas of business analytics and data-informed decision-making to support mission effectiveness and organizational agility.
- Collaborate with other executive leaders to shape organizational strategy and evaluate global impact.
- Support the financial and administrative development of the global Hope Channel Network entities by promoting best practices and shared resources.
- Process and execute contracts as per the contracting guidelines approved by the Hope Channel Board.Liaises with the following on behalf of Hope Channel –
- GC Treasury for budgets, in-house operations and other financial matters
- Office of General Counsel to address legal issues
- GC Human Resource Services to address human resource issues.
- Must be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Serves on boards and committees as assigned.
- Must maintain a regular and reliable work schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting related field required.
- A minimum of 7- 10 years prior applicable experience required
- Broad knowledge of principles, policies, and beliefs of the General Conference and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Knowledge of church structure and organization.
- Knowledge and skill in appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in various circumstances.
- Knowledge and skill of developing, monitoring and controlling budgets.
- Must be highly organized, give attention to detail, and work resourcefully and efficiently under deadlines.
- Outstanding oral, written, and public presentation English language communication skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and project professional competence.
- Ability to mentor, manage, and inspire others.
