Brodeur Partners is looking for a Vice President of Research to join its team. We are a mid-sized dynamic communications consulting firm based in Boston, specializing in brand, marketing, and media relations services for clients in a variety of sectors including: health, education, B2B, consumer, technology, and higher education. A key strength of our business is our research expertise—providing actionable insights through content and media analysis, competitive assessments, qualitative research (in-depth interviews and focus groups), and quantitative survey research. We are seeking an experienced, strategic professional to lead our research efforts, help shape the future direction of our research services, and support our clients with high-quality insights.
The ideal candidate will have experience in research, ideally with a background in marketing, brand, media, or business communications. The candidate will have experience leading research-related projects, managing relationships with internal teams and external clients, and designing, executing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative studies. A major focus is leveraging current and emerging AI research tools for actionable insight. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s research functionOversee all client research projects, including project design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative studiesConduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, and survey research to support client objectives.
- Deliver actionable insightsTranslate research findings into clear, concise reports and presentations for clients, with strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teamsWork closely with brand, marketing, and media relations teams to integrate research insights into client strategies.
- Manage client relationshipsServe as the primary point of contact for research clients, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Develop proposalsAssist in writing research proposals and project scopes to win new business.
- Mentor junior staffProvide guidance and training to junior researchers and team members as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trendsKeep up with developments in research methodologies and communications trends to ensure we remain competitive.
- Minimum of 10 years overall professional communications experience; 5+ years of experience in research, ideally in marketing, brand, media, or business communications
- Experience in leveraging AI research tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups, in-depth interviews).
- Experience with quantitative survey research design, analysis, and reporting.
- Familiarity with content analysis, competitive assessments, and media monitoring tools.
- Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting or fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and client management experience
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS) and survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Business, Research) is a plus.
