Profiles is hiring a UX Researcher for a global pharmaceutical client on a 12-month extendable contract basis. Talent will be required to be on-site 50% of the time.
Summary:
As a UX Researcher (or Full-Stack UX professional with a strong research focus), you will join our growing Digital Capabilities team. Reporting to the Senior Director of UX, you will be the primary UX Researcher in a small, agile team that includes one onshore and one offshore designer.
This position was created to bring dedicated research expertise into the team and accelerate the design of digital solutions for product development scientists. You’ll play a pivotal role in uncovering user needs, validating design decisions, and ensuring adoption of cutting-edge digital tools in a complex, highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct discovery and evaluative research, including usability testing, interviews, observations, and workflow mapping.
- Uncover barriers to the adoption of digital tools and translate insights into product improvements.
- Collaborate with product owners (scientists), IT, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet real-world scientific needs.
- Run and facilitate workshops to align cross-functional teams on workflows and user journeys.
- Synthesize findings into compelling stories and recommendations to support leadership in decision-making.
- Partner with designers in Figma; contribute to design execution if full-stack UX skills are present.
- Present insights to teams and leadership, ensuring research is actionable and clearly connected to business impact.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in UX research or full-stack UX with a strong research emphasis.
- Proven expertise in usability testing, interviews, and observational research methods.
- Strong ability to analyze and communicate insights clearly, influencing both design and product outcomes.
- Experience working in highly regulated, complex industries (e.g., pharma, healthcare, or enterprise software).
- Familiarity with Figma; ability to contribute directly to design work is a plus.
- Comfortable collaborating across functions, including scientists, IT, and product owners.
- Based in New Jersey with the ability to work on-site in New Brunswick (hybrid model).
