Summary of the Position: The Montgomery Academy seeks an experienced and collaborative Upper School Mathematics teacher to join our full-time teaching faculty. We are seeking an individual who can teach multiple subject areas within the field of mathematics, including the possibility of Pre-Calculus, AP Pre-Calculus, Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, Statistics and AP Statistics, while fostering a challenging and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics, a commitment to innovative instructional practices, and a desire to build meaningful relationships with students as both a teacher and advisor. As a member of the math department, this teacher will also contribute to the continued development of a cohesive, rigorous, and engaging curriculum. A full teaching load is five sections per semester with the possibility of proctoring a semester study hall.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach multiple sections of Upper School mathematics (possibilities include Pre-Calculus, AP Pre-calculus, Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, Statistics, AP Statistics)
- Maintain a course website
- Plan course materials and methods of instruction
- Create and design lesson plans, instruction, and assessments
- Serve as an Upper School advisor
- Work closely and effectively with members of the math department to ensure that curriculum flows smoothly
- Communicate with parents
- Engage in continued professional development
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics, advanced degree preferred
- Teaching experience in math preferred
- Creative, enthusiastic and growth-mindset approach to learning
- Experience in the use of educational technology
- Effective communication skills
- Genuine concern for students and their learning success
- Collaborative approach to working with other faculty members
