Responsible For
- Coordinating maintenance activities, repairs, and and inspection of a fleet of trailers, ensuring they are safe, operational, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Develops and implements maintenance schedules for trailers, including preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Schedules and coordinates trailer inspections (e.g., DOT inspections) to ensure compliance.
- Prioritizes and assigns maintenance and repair tasks to internal technicians or external vendors.
- Manages work orders and ensures the timely completion of tasks.
- Communicates with drivers, maintenance staff, and management regarding maintenance needs and schedules.
- Works with vendors and suppliers to source parts and services.
- Collaborates with operations and logistics teams to ensure trailer availability to maintain daily operations.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in maintenance coordination and a basic understanding of semi-trucks and trailers, HVAC, hydraulic and electrical systems, proficiency with maintenance management software, knowledge of building systems, and familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT) with a willingness to learn and understand all aspects of mobile medical trailer operations.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have a positive and proactive attitude to acquire new knowledge and skills by actively seeking out learning opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- The ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to troubleshoot maintenance issues in an ever-changing environment.
- A valid driver's license, and a class A or B CDL is preferred. Support will be provided for the hired candidate to obtain a CDL.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Frequent Lifting: The ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, particularly during inspections or overseeing maintenance activities.
- Frequent Walking. Will need to walk around the facility to inspect equipment.
- Bending and Kneeling: Inspecting underneath trailers and performing some maintenance tasks requires frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Reaching and Climbing: Reaching with hands and arms, including overhead, is necessary for tasks like inspections and repairs. Climbing ladders and stairs are also be required.
