Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Playwright to validate functionality, performance, and reliability of web applications.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and identify test cases suitable for automation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) to ensure continuous quality validation during development and deployment cycles.
- Design, execute, and document functional, regression, and end-to-end tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage of features and user workflows.
- Investigate and troubleshoot test failures, report defects with clear documentation, and work with developers to drive resolution.
- Maintain and enhance the test automation framework to improve reliability, reusability, and scalability of tests.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and provide testing input to ensure stories are testable and meet quality standards.
- Monitor test execution in CI environments, analyze results, and generate test reports to support release readiness decisions.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and test coverage to enhance software quality and team productivity.
- Support manual testing efforts as needed, particularly during exploratory testing or in early stages of feature development.
- Hands-on experience with modern, browser-based automation tools, specifically Playwright.
- Familiarity with other automation tools is a plus (e.g., Cypress, Selenium).
- Proficiency in a scripting language used for test automation, such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
- Solid understanding of basic programming concepts, including variables, functions, and control structures.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases.
- Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Understanding of different testing types, including smoke, regression, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
- Basic experience with testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or directly within an automation script.
- Proven ability to implement and configure automated tests to run as a stage within a CI/CD pipeline.
- Understanding of how test results are used to gate builds (i.e., pass/fail a deployment).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, agile team.
- A proactive mindset and a strong desire to learn new technologies and improve processes.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, including automation frameworks
- Demonstrable experience with creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Active DOD Secret clearance is required. Candidates without a minimum of a Secret clearance will not be considered.
