We're Hiring: Technical Editor and Writer 3!
We are seeking a skilled Technical Editor and Writer to create, edit, and refine technical documentation, manuals, and content. The ideal candidate will have expertise in translating complex technical information into clear, accessible content while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all materials.

What You'll Do
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
Special Requirements
6 Years with bachelor’s degree in related field; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a master’s degree.
Familiar with software troubleshooting.
5 or more years’ experience in researching, editing, writing, and developing technical manuals.
Experience in Standard Generalized Makeup Language (SGML).
AutoCAD experience.
This position is intended for the hardware integration group in E70.
The incumbent will be responsible for development and maintenance of component technical manuals.
The position regularly communicates with the Navy, NNL, and Engineers/Designers across departments via email, phone, and in person meeting.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Paint Editor and must be knowledgeable of Adobe Acrobat, Windows, and Internet Explorer/Edge.
AutoCAD Experience Is a Plus But Is Not Required.

- Potential HYBRID position after 12 months **.
- Potential PERMANENT position offered after 90 days pending mutually positive experience **.
