The System Manager will apply technical and program management expertise to lead cross-functional teams and define PC product definitions, experience and technology solutions, and solution delivery strategies. The System Manager will lead both large, cross-functional teams and projects as well as narrow, strategic projects within the business unit. All will affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. The role requires routinely exercising independent judgement to determine best methods for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads key programs involving multiple functions and program teams to drive the development and implementation process for multiple products or solution offerings.
  • Directs the development of overall program strategy, budgets, resource allocation plans, and general program requirements. Manages activities of supporting program teams and internal and external development partners; ensures alignment with strategy.
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with business unit management and manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices to drive continuous improvement and manage program costs.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities. Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of program management innovation and excellence.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • 10+ years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated history of program management excellence.
  • Knowledge of PC Client or consumer electronics product development processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated business acumen, understanding of organizational strategy, and successful experience managing all aspects of cross-business unit programs, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
  • History of innovation with examples of developing new technical, program management, and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate program management architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at executive levels.

The pay range for this role is $146,650 to $225,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
