The Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS, LCAS-A, CCS) provides confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community to promote healthy lifestyles.
- Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and assists clients in meeting treatment goals while evaluating progress.
- Offers individual, family, and group counseling on addiction causes and effects, and connects clients to treatment resources.
- Provides educational programs and workshops within the organization and community, focusing on high-risk populations.
- Maintains accurate records, adheres to confidentiality laws, and collaborates with other departments and community agencies.
- Assists clients with additional needs such as employment, education, and relationship rebuilding.
- Requires relevant licensure/certification, preferred 1+ year SUD experience, and familiarity with ASAM criteria.
