Job Overview:
We are looking for a Strategy and Operations Lead who combines analytical skill with entrepreneurial drive. You will work directly with the COO and CEO to turn complex problems into clear, actionable results across finance, operations, research, and communications.
This is a high-trust, high-exposure role. You will touch nearly every part of the company and help drive critical projects from concept to completion. One week you might refine a pricing model or support an investor deck. The next, you might research a market trend, review a contract, or identify insights in the sales pipeline. You will be expected to think critically, move quickly, and deliver work that reflects sound judgment and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Analytical and Strategic Work - Build and refine working capital, pricing, and ROI models; track key metrics across sales, revenue, and product performance to spot trends and risks; support board, investor, and internal presentations with clear analysis and data visualization
- Market and Business Research - Monitor and summarize developments in batteries, grid infrastructure, and power management; conduct deep-dive research on key opportunities such as UPS systems, sodium-ion adoption, and data center demand; translate technical and market data into concise, actionable business insights
- Operational and Administrative Support - Review and organize legal documents such as NDAs, contracts, and statements of work; streamline reporting, documentation, and cross-functional coordination; support commercial process execution from quote to delivery
- Execution and Ownership - Recognize issues early and take initiative to resolve them; deliver complete, accurate, and polished work on tight timelines; operate independently with sound judgment and accountability
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create robust financial models and professional-level presentations
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate strategy, or startup operations
- Established analytical foundation with advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Excellent writing and communication skills, able to explain complex ideas simply
- Experience working with financial data, contracts, and operational processes
- Strong curiosity about batteries, energy storage, and technology
- Comfort in a fast-paced, unstructured environment where priorities shift quickly
- High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information
- Ability to work full time in our Carlsbad, CA office
