Under general supervision, inspects and records readings of chillers, heating and cooling pumps, air handling units and pneumatic control panels. Performs maintenance repairs as needed, primarily during periods when the maintenance department is closed.

Position Summary
Under general supervision, inspects and records readings of chillers, heating and cooling pumps, air handling units and pneumatic control panels. Performs maintenance repairs as needed, primarily during periods when the maintenance department is closed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a log at the beginning of the shift and perform equipment inspections during the shift.
- Maintain chemical feed systems and adds chemicals as directed by the engineer on duty.
- Clean boiler, boiler room and equipment room and performs related custodial and cleaning duties as necessary.
- Perform general maintenance tasks throughout the Hospital, especially when the maintenance department is closed.
- Clean and/or replaced filter material for air and water supply systems.
- Assist the grounds department in the care of parking lot, sidewalks and the grounds in general, including snow removal in Winter months and shrub care during summer months.
- Assist the Engineer on duty with equipment repairs, preventive maintenance and related work.
- Understand, transmit and follow simple oral and/or written instructions and perform simple arithmetic calculations. Must possess some basic technical knowledge normally acquired in up to six months of vocational training.
- Requires up to one year of on-the-job training.
- Concentrate on details such as measuring ingredients, testing, setting and monitoring gauges and maintaining logs.
- Responsibility for materials and equipment. Probable cost in case of improper or careless handling of materials and/or equipment would be moderate.
- Have general knowledge of boilers, types of circulating pumps and valves, etc.
- Must have valid Ohio driver's license.
