Per Diem Opportunity - $28.88/hour
JOB SUMMARY: Direct support position which provides respite care to individuals with developmental disabilities. An On-Site Direct Support Professional (DSP) ensures that the individuals they support are provided person-centered programming and are encouraged and supported in making their own decisions to the greatest extent possible. An On-Site DSP ensures that individuals are offered opportunities to participate in the community to the greatest extent possible, where applicable, and in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: STAR Intensive must be able to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
Provides Respite Services To Individuals With Developmental Disabilities
Achieves minimum service delivery requirements as directed by the Habilitation Services Program Coordinator
Complies with agency Incident Reporting Policies and Procedures
Follows agency policies and procedures regarding reporting incidents of injury, abuse or neglect of individuals in his/her care
Manages behavioral challenges of the consumers

Provides Respite Services To Individuals With Developmental Disabilities
- Provide respite care in the homes, community and/or at agency site to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Maintain safety of individuals while in respite care
- Engage individuals in activities appropriate to age and/or developmental level of the individual, where appropriate
- Have the ability to transports ones’ self to and from the work site to maintain the confidentiality of the individual served
- Documents services and instruction on appropriate respite billing forms contemporaneous to (at the time of) the delivery of the service.
- Completes time sheets bi-weekly for hours worked and submits to Program Coordinator

Follows agency policies and procedures regarding reporting incidents of injury, abuse or neglect of individuals in his/her care
Manages behavioral challenges of the consumers
- Implement Ukeru and SCIP-R crisis procedures during emergency situations to maintain a safe learning environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of the diagnostic criteria, learning and behavioral characteristics for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, speech delays and/or disorders
- Demonstrate knowledge of empirically supported interventions and methods to evaluate treatment for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Contribute data as requested on individual participant progress.
- Regularly review standards and outcomes to ensure that individuals and their families’ rights, confidentiality and privileges are maintained
- Conduct all duties, responsibilities, and daily activities in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines
