Sr. GIS Technician

Description

We're looking for Sr. GIS Technicians who are fluent in using GIS and other data system technologies to support the management and analysis of data within Utility systems.

What You'll Do

• Updates and enhances data systems including entering and modifying data, implementing analytical processes or building custom tools.
• Engages in activities leveraging information contained in client data systems to address business problems.
• Supports team leadership in tracking and report on project timelines and targets.
• Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topic.
• Participates in the development or modification of data management and analysis workflows, identifying and evaluating available data sources and leveraging previous project experience to enhance current assignments.
• Trains team members in established workflows and project standards.
• Contributes to and participates in client communication under supervision.
• Support and facilitates Quality Control activities under direction of Manager, Analyst or other project leaders
  
  

Required Qualifications

• One-year related GIS work experience
• Working knowledge of basic software programs such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS
• Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in GIS related discipline, is preferred
• Prior experience utilizing GIS software in the utility or pipeline industry preferred
• Knowledge of CADD is a plus
• Solid working knowledge of client GIS specifications.
