We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Financial Litigation Paralegal to support our legal team in complex financial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation support, document management, and case preparation in financial disputes and regulatory matters.

Job Type & Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional overtime may be required)
Travel Requirements: Local travel within the Detroit area may be required in addition to occasional travel outside the local area for special projects.

Position Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)
- Examine, prepare, and process complex legal and financial documents, including motions, orders, pleadings, subpoenas, writs of execution, garnishments, affidavits, and proofs of claim. Independently draft legal actions such as satisfactions of judgment and notices while ensuring compliance with legal format and procedural requirements.
- Review and analyze case materials to determine required legal actions, gathering necessary information from files, law enforcement agencies, and legal databases. Submit completed documents to the appropriate government attorney or court, as required.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, compiling trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions, and preparing witness and exhibit lists. Verify legal citations and statutory references using online and traditional research tools.
- Draft and manage legal correspondence, including pleadings transmittals, requests for extensions, case status updates, and communications with law enforcement and external agencies.
- Organize and maintain case files, legal reference materials, and exhibits, ensuring timely access to critical case information. Track and preserve debtor assets using appropriate collection tools and procedures.
- Perform docketing and case management tasks, including opening, updating, and closing cases in automated legal databases. Maintain attorneys’ calendars by tracking court filings, hearings, deadlines, and scheduled meetings.
- Provide litigation and administrative support, receiving and directing visitors, answering inquiries, and furnishing requested case information while ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Prepare written legal and financial materials, integrating case-related data into documents, tables, graphs, and charts for use in legal proceedings or courtroom presentations.
- Utilize automated litigation support tools, including legal research databases, document review platforms, scanners, and graphic software to prepare exhibits, enlarge charts, and process legal evidence.
- Ensure compliance with victims' rights guidelines, coordinating with victim/witness specialists and notifying appropriate personnel of victim-related case matters.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following education, experience, and background requirements:
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Finance, or a related field AND/OR a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of litigation paralegal experience required (civil practice, financial collections, or discovery support highly preferred). Experience supporting federal, state, or local government entities—especially in a legal or financial litigation capacity—is strongly preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in automated litigation support.
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and databases (e.g., Relativity is a plus).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple cases simultaneously.
- Experience handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Must pass a comprehensive federal background investigation to obtain NACI clearance and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Candidates with an active NACI or Public Trust clearance are highly preferred.
- Must meet Federal residency requirements (lived in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years).
