Job Summary:

We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and culture-tuned Social Media Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll concept, create, and manage engaging content across platforms for Duke’s, Mateo’s, and Kernel Season’s - each with its own unique voice, style, and fanbase. This isn’t a “one-brand, one-feed" gig. You’ll flex your creative muscles across three distinct brands, crafting everything from timely trend-driven posts to campaign-driven storytelling. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where flavor meets fun, and strategy meets storytelling. Some nights and weekends will be required to cover live events and cultural moments as they happen – because great social doesn’t clock out at 5:00 PM. This position will report to the Marketing Director.


Key Responsibilities:

Content Planning & Strategy

  • Build and execute monthly content calendars in collaboration with the social team.
  • Translate brand strategies into platform-specific moments and campaigns.
  • Stay ahead of trends to create timely, culturally relevant content.

Media Budget Management

  • Manage and hold accountability for social media budget with a focus on strategic allocation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Content Creation & Publishing

  • Partner with in-house and external creators to bring ideas to life (photo, video, UGC, etc.).
  • Write copy and schedule posts across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Manage day-to-day publishing and engage with our communities.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track performance metrics and surface actionable insights to improve content and engagement.
  • Report monthly on key KPI’s for each platform
  • A/B test formats, captions, and posting times to optimize reach and engagement.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with brand managers, influencers, and creative teams on launches, campaigns, and activations.
  • Partner with customer service, PR, legal and sales teams to keep messaging compliant and consistent across touchpoints.


What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience

  • 5-7 years managing social for consumer brands.
  • 3+ years' experience working directly with influencers to contract, negotiate and manage content creation.
  • 2+ years of direct management of internal social media teams inclusive of creators.
  • Bonus: experience in food or CPG.

Skill Requirement:

  • Ability to manage multiple brand voices and content streams at once.
  • Proficiency in social tools (Sprout Social, Later, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite, YouTube studio, Meta Business).
  • Strong short-form video skills and editing confidence.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented. You thrive in deadline-driven environments and handle volume with ease
  • A creative mindset and a love for memes, cultural moments, and moving content.
  • Ability to stay calm within the storm

Other:

  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends for event coverage and timely content.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Flexible to work in the Richmond office 50% of the time.
