SUMMARY
The Shipping Clerk II is an experienced role responsible for advanced shipping operations. In addition to performing all standard shipping and receiving duties, this position requires proficiency in using shipping software, determining optimal shipment methods, and making time-sensitive decisions based on order requirements.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Technical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to operate a computer, specifically shipping software, and must have the capacity to learn technical concepts related to the preparation of shipping labels, and the operation of our internal company intranet.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs all duties of Shipping Clerk I, including loading, unloading, packaging, and palletizing materials.
- Operates shipping software to prepare accurate labels, documents, and shipments.
- Determines the most efficient and cost-effective shipping method for each order, considering carrier options, package size and weight, destination, and required delivery timelines.
- Reviews job tickets and confirms order specifications and turn times before shipment.
- Communicates proactively with production, customer service, and management regarding special shipping requirements.
- Coordinates with carriers and schedules pickups to maintain on-time delivery commitments.
- Maintains inventory of shipping supplies and notifies management of reordering needs.
- Assists in training Shipping Clerk I team members in proper procedures and use of shipping systems.
- Performs regular inventory control and participates in cycle counts.
- Conducts quality assurance, reporting damage, shortages, and maintenance needs.
- Maintains a clean and orderly facility and follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computerized shipping systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to read and interpret order specifications and make judgment calls under time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
