Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Servicing Operations Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data during the transfer of mortgage loan servicing. This role plays a vital part in supporting smooth servicing transfers by identifying and resolving data issues promptly and accurately. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analytics, hands-on experience with operational data management, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners. Success in this position requires the ability to thrive in both independent and team-based environments within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule and requires working onsite at our Bloomington, MN office four days per week. One day per week may be worked remotely, subject to business needs and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute servicing data migration activities, including data cleansing, mapping, conversion, and validation post-transfer. Support both correspondent and wholesale mortgage channels.
  • Leverage exception reporting and SQL queries to identify data gaps and discrepancies. Apply critical thinking within established frameworks to drive effective quality assurance. Conduct loan-level research to reconcile data with documentation, as necessary.
  • Perform escrow reconciliation for wholesale and Verus Assisted transfers. Oversee document imaging processes and coordinate the successful transfer of documents to new servicers.
  • Review pre-funding pipelines and monitor post-settlement servicing activities to ensure accurate loan data assignment.
  • Investigate and resolve servicing data issues and client requests by performing data and document research. Implement data corrections and system updates, ensuring responsive and professional communication with clients, servicers, and internal teams.
  • Manage investor code assignments and transitions with services across both correspondent and wholesale channels.
  • Support delinquency management efforts during the initial 30 days following service transfer.
  • Generate 404 letters using SQL queries, manage data delivery and mailing processes with vendors, and ensure compliance with tracking procedures.
  • Address research items and resolve exceptions to support the securitization and whole loan sale processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational workflows and contribute to the continuous improvement of Verus' processes and procedures.
  • Take on additional tasks and projects as needed to support company goals and growth.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or a related role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services or mortgage operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate-advanced level preferred). Strong analytical thinking and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with SQL or the ability to learn and utilize SQL queries is a strong plus.
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize and multitask independently.
  • Concise written and verbal communication skills. Highly attentive to detail and a strong sense of process ownership.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering results.
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing processes and mortgage documentation is highly desirable.
