Senior Software Engineer – Voice AI Team

Hona is seeking a passionate and innovative Senior Software Engineer to join our Voice AI Team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain software systems that directly interact with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies, powering next-generation voice and conversational experiences for our clients.

We’re looking for someone who is not only experienced in software engineering, but also deeply enthusiastic about AI—someone who regularly explores the latest advancements in generative AI, has hands-on experience with LLMs, and is eager to share and apply new ideas in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain robust software solutions that leverage LLMs and generative AI for voice and conversational applications.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, prompt engineers, and product managers to deliver seamless AI-powered user experiences.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on new features, integrating the latest advancements in generative AI and voice technology.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in LLMs, speech recognition, and generative AI, and proactively share insights and best practices with the team.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems.
• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  
  

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building production systems.
• Demonstrated experience working on projects involving LLMs, generative AI, or conversational AI (personal, open-source, or professional).
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js/Express, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.
• Experience with voice technologies (speech-to-text, text-to-speech, conversational interfaces) is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for exploring and applying new AI technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and own projects from concept to delivery.
