Summary

The Senior Project Engineer works within the Project Management Teams to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. The Senior Project Engineer will provide essential engineering functions on dedicated projects in the same capacity as the Project Engineer. This position will also oversee all Project Engineering functions performed by others to ensure standard practices are maintained, while providing guidance and support as needed. This is to include but is not limited to preconstruction services, post-bid purchasing, document control, RFI & submittal management, management of the project budgets, timely notices and project close-out. This role will also be required to create, review and maintain key productivity indexes, Trinitas project lessons learned, and master design logs as well as participate in product/processes development and the implementation of training practices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Management of 3-4 project engineers and 1-2 project assignments.
  • Collaborate with the project managers and project lead superintendents.
  • Hold and conduct weekly project briefs with Sr. Project Manager.
  • Assistance in bid and buyout procedures.
  • Project setup on contractor’s project management platform. Procore or similar.
  • Development and management of the material procurement schedules.
  • RFI and Submittal Management.
  • Management and forecasting of PCO and or Change Event logs.
  • Management and forecasting of allowances and exposure holds.
  • Review and negotiation of subcontractor change orders.
  • Production of estimates or ROMs on design changes published by the AOR/EOR on record.
  • Participation in OAC Meetings. Including agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Development and management of each projects contract document list.
  • Participation of the review and approval of the subcontractor’s application for payments.
  • Production of contractor’s weekly progress reports.
  • Production of contractor’s monthly report to Ownership.
  • Assist the project managers in ensuring time notices to subcontractors, suppliers, and Owners.
  • Management of project specific closeout procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in construction industry with commercial and/or large-scale residential construction manager or general contractor is required
  • Performed in a Project Engineer or Similar role for 5 years
  • Previous experience with Procore or similar project management platforms.
  • 30 Hour OSHA Certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience with ASTA scheduling software or similar applications is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Bluebeam software is preferred.
  • Experience managing large scale projects and subcontractors is required.
  • Understanding of means and methods of construction.
  • Understanding of how to effectively manage construction staffs to achieve high levels of productivity that meet or exceed industry norms.
  • Ability to work under tight time and pressure demands.
  • Ability to foster and maintain a team environment where all members are working toward a common goal.


Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily indoor / office environment however does require some travel for regular jobsite visits to maintain a working knowledge of the project status.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to work in a dusty, construction environment while on jobsites.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to use close and distance vision.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English language to effectively communicate with others on the worksite.
