Summary:
The Senior Director of Programs provides strategic leadership, operational oversight and integration of MACC’s Continuing Education and Formation programs. Reporting to the president, the Senior Director of Programs is responsible for helping advance the organization’s mission by effectively leading and supporting the management of its diverse programs, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, and leading a dedicated team. This pivotal role requires a visionary and team-minded leader with a strong background in program management, strategic development, oversight, and ministry formation. The Senior Director of Programs plays a key leadership role in ensuring that the continuing education and formation programs of the college reflect and support its mission and values. The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong service orientation, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a mission-driven campus culture. This role requires the ability to envision and implement continuing education and formation programs that takes into consideration the underlying needs of MACC’s constituents and partners as well as the skills and learning standards of ministerial leadership. This person is an expert at administration and processes needed to make this vision a reality.

Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
Program Administration
- *Leads and manages the Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry and Service (Archdiocese of San Antonio)
- *Supervises directors and coordinators of the various continuing education and formation programs and initiatives at MACC. These include:
- Children’s Initiatives
- Lifelong Learning
- Regional Formation Programs (Diaconate and Certificate in Lay Ecclesial Ministry)
- Rural Ministry Program
- Diaconate Formation Program (Archdiocese of San Antonio).
- *Supervises everything pertaining to the efficient administration of the above-mentioned programs/initiatives, budgetary, management, and ministerial functions (which may include grant-based budgets).
- *Serve in the leadership team at MACC to ensure that all continuing education and formation programs are well integrated with other MACC initiatives and academic programs and are in tune with MACC’s mission.
- *The Director supervises and ensures to properly manage assigned staff in all related areas.
- *Advise MACC and partners of developments related to continuing education and formation programs to identify potential opportunities, mitigate risks and manage the impact on operational and mission effectiveness in a cost-effective manner.
- *Regularly communicate clearly and concisely regarding the progress of implementation while facilitating feedback and dialogue between team members and leadership staff to achieve mutual goals with creativity and focus.
- *Ensure that formation programs operate according to the needs of the constituencies and given available resources and standards.
- *Ensure proper implementation of MACC’s existing continuing education and formation programs. Work as needed with any new programs.
- *Use all the technological tools available for the Church and professional training markets.
- *Must always be obedient to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church under the guidance of the Archbishop of San Antonio.
- *Ongoing problem-solving and research for new training methods of ministry development.
- *Develop models of comprehensive formation that take into account the multicultural reality of the local church for the various programs.
- *Be aware of the national trends, important documents, and resources that are available to office staff and formators, directors, and coordinators.
- *Participate in professional associations, when possible, to expand knowledge of national and international issues influencing the Church and to develop a network of useful contacts.
- *Regularly engage in personal growth, professional development, theological study, prayer, charity and justice work, and spiritual formation. Responsible and prayerful docility to the Holy Spirit and discernment of spirits as actions are taken in fulfilling the mission of the Church in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
- *In collaboration with the President, establish and implement strategic short- and long-term goals, plans, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- *Oversee and supervise team performance, provide guidance, support, identify development needs and professional growth opportunities.
- As a part of the leadership team, the Senior Director of Programs works collaboratively with others in areas of mission advancement, communications (website, newsletters, social media presence), academics, student affairs, and campus operations.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of oneself and others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization, include but not limited to students’ names and information, services rendered to students and parishioners, donors' names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Morals Policy of the Archdiocese of San Antonio is mandatory.
