Overview
Under general direction, analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides technical expertise and administration of the access control, video management, and intercom and security alarm systems.
Security Systems Administrator, Senior - This is an exempt position in Salary Grade 205: Min $95,176.00 - Mid $114,212.00 - Max $133,247.00 annually. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.
Security Systems Administrator - This is an exempt position in Salary Grade 195: Min $86,328.00 - Mid $103,593.00 - Max $120,859.00 annually. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

Security Systems Administrator, Senior - Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in the technical support of digital access control systems, integrated SQL databases, programming, Transmission Control Protocols (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) technology, and server and software maintenance. A Genetec Administrator certification is preferred.
Security Systems Administrator - Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience in the technical support of digital access control systems, integrated SQL databases, programming, Transmission Control Protocols (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) technology, and server and software maintenance. A Genetec Administrator certification is preferred.

- Subject matter expert who works independently performing tasks at multiple local offices and field locations.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and facilitates the repair and maintenance of physical security systems including access control, video management systems, and intercom and security alarm systems.
- Coordinates the access control system used to administer and manage access into owned and leased facilities. Facilitates appropriate access levels and programs individual permissions. Provides technical support for the access control system including access badges cards, badge readers and other components.
- Coordinates the facility video management system utilized on owned and leased facilities. Facilitates appropriate access levels and programs individual permissions. Provides technical support for the design, installation, repair and maintenance of the system.
- Coordinates the Security and Emergency Preparedness (SEP) department’s technical security projects such as installation of access control hardware, video management hardware, and related software.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on administration of physical security systems; works collaboratively with Information Systems (IS) on the installation and maintenance of network- based hardware, servers and related projects as needed.
- Prepares reports and conducts internal system reviews.
- Develops, for management approval, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies for users and maintains system documentation.
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities and possible training of colleagues.
- Attends assigned meetings and conferences and completes all required and recommended training.
- Meets with department representatives to assess current and future security requirements to ensure the OCTA security systems meet business needs.
- Supports strategic objectives by assisting to forecast future requirements, helps prepare annual projection budget with scheduled expenditures.
- Participates in the coordination, development, and training of employees on related security programs to include documentation, training materials, and metrics tracking.
- Maintains and performs or facilitates systems software updates and upgrades for related security systems and includes maintaining all Security Systems Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
- Coordinates service calls and system maintenance with vendors.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
- Analyzes existing system processes; develops and implements recommended improvements and corrective actions to ensure system reliability.
- Works cross-functionally with internal IS department resources, systems integrators, and vendors to review, build, and deploy technical security solutions.
- Administers a high degree of organization, flexibility, and adaptability to changing work and environmental conditions.
