Under the direction of the Manager, Support – Cage Operations, the Research Analyst – Cage Operations plays a crucial role in delivering financial insights for the Cage Operations department by leveraging various data sources. This role involves developing comprehensive reports using advanced analytics tools, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accuracy in both data and reports. This role is responsible for conducting in-depth financial research and analysis to support the Cage Operations department's strategic decision-making. This includes evaluating financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to optimize operations and enhance profitability. This role collaborates with cross-functional and cage management teams to gather relevant data and insights, ensuring that all financial research aligns with organizational goals and objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains business intelligence reports and interactive dashboards utilizing a diverse set of software tools, including Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, and SAS Enterprise Guide. Ensures data integrity and accuracy while providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
- Collects data from various sources, organizes, and analyzes the results to build intuitive statistical reporting utilizing visualization and business intelligence tools. Provides a clear interpretation and communication of data to aid in decision making.
- Leverages expertise in gaming systems, accounting systems, and cage processes to perform detailed research, aimed at streamlining and optimizing departmental operations.
- Provides comprehensive research and analytical support focused on enhancing the department's income. Utilizes advanced analytical techniques to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, aiding in the development of strategies to maximize revenue and financial performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field required.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an analytical field required.
- Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
- Cage Operations setup, evaluation, and reporting, or equivalent financial analysis experience preferred.
- Experience with data visualization, reporting & dashboarding tools, Power BI experience is preferred.
- Experience with data tools and languages like SAS Enterprise Guide, Oracle Discoverer or MS Access preferred.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with tight deadlines.
- Requires the ability to think critically and independently, while at the same time the ability to know when to ask for help; requires excellent common sense.
- Ability to self-manage projects based upon defined timelines and variable outcomes required.
- Ability to complete projects that require long hours prepping presentation materials from not just content, but even a “making them dynamic” perspective.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

- Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
- Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
- Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
- Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
- The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
