Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Specialist to join our esteemed IT team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that all technical support needs are met with exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Set up and configure new workstations, applications, upgrades, and patches.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Collaborate with IT Service Desk and Engineering teams to identify issues, integrate new technologies, and optimize efficiency.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets promptly, offering on-site or remote support to end users.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and processes diligently within the helpdesk system.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to IT staff as needed.
  • Plan, test, and implement system and software upgrades effectively.
  • Engage in disaster recovery testing, documenting outcomes and recommendations.
  • Address audit findings to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Serve as a critical member of the Incident Management Team, prioritizing tasks during incidents.
  • Participate in a rotational 24⁄7 on-call support schedule.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance expertise in IT systems, regulatory compliance, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows 10⁄11, imaging, deployment, and patching processes.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, GPO, DNS/DHCP.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, including Change Management and Problem Management.
  • Understanding of networking principles and remote support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, organizational skills, and customer service acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an additional 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are preferred.
