Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Benefits Case Manager to join our remote team. In this vital role, you will support patients and caregivers by guiding them through the complexities of healthcare and pharmacy benefits. You will serve as the primary resource for patients and their families, ensuring they receive the personalized assistance required to navigate their healthcare needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for patients and educate them about available resources and support options.
  • Handle incoming calls from patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, triaging inquiries as appropriate.
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine patients’ needs and connect them with relevant resources and services.
  • Provide new patients with a welcoming call, offering essential information about available resources.
  • Maintain strict adherence to compliance policies, business rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify barriers to healthcare access and collaborate with community resources to facilitate support.
  • Assist in benefit investigations and prior authorization processes as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with internal and external teams to ensure timely patient care.
  • Participate in departmental projects to enhance the patient experience.
  • Manage additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong empathy and communication skills, particularly in sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with robust computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated compassion and teamwork in patient interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with 2-3 years of experience in healthcare practice management or patient services.
  • Relevant experience in patient support, call center environments, reimbursement, or oncology is advantageous.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Flexible remote work environment
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k with matching
  • Generous paid time off policies, including 10 paid holidays and up to 18 days of PTO
  • Start Date: January 6, 2025
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm CST (candidates in PST must be available to start at 7am or 8:30am Pacific/9am or 10:30am CST)
