Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring high standards of quality care for critically ill patients. The ICU RN collaborates with other healthcare professionals, monitors patient progress, and performs interventions as required to stabilize and improve patient health.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring high standards of quality care for critically ill patients. The ICU RN collaborates with other healthcare professionals, monitors patient progress, and performs interventions as required to stabilize and improve patient health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Assessment & Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, and perform assessments to evaluate patients' response to treatments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Treatment Implementation: Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed, and intervene in emergencies as required.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities and progress in the medical records.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent ICU nursing experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License in the state where care is provided.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Two (2) years of recent ICU nursing experience.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certificate.
- Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.
- Dialysis, SLED, or equivalent experience preferred.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiac Life Support
