Regional Distribution Center Manager

Job Purpose

The Reading Rock Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Manager is an entrepreneurial-driven individual who manages the day-to-day operations of the RDC and is focused on promoting and enhancing Reading Rock Business.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manages purchasing, order processing, inventory management, hiring/training/directing personnel, enforcing safety policies, controlling expenses, and general maintenance of the facility.
• Maintains/upgrades displays, samples, and other merchandise necessary to successfully show and sell the various product groups from the RDC.
• Assist Outside Sales Associates by handling remote interactions with customers to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Manages order fulfillment.
• Retain proper paperwork in a safe location, manage RDC cash drawer and supplies, manage sample program, and sustain a clean appearance for visiting customers.
• Work with the appropriate sales professional to resolve matters affiliated with all key internal and external stakeholders for prompt and equitable resolutions.
• Comply with written policies in accordance with Reading Rock core values.
• Participate in and/or help coordinate training events to enhance skill sets when and where provided.
• Other position-related duties as needed & assigned.
  
  

Education, Knowledge, And Skills

• High School Diploma: 2-year degree preferred
• Construction Industry Experience: preferred, not necessary
• Customer Service Experience: 3+ years preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Current Forklift license
• Basic ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using the English language.
• MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, ERP
• Team Leadership: Work in a team-based platform and lead by example to implement continuous improvement initiatives for customer service team members to ensure the Industry’s Best Customer Experience.
• Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of the ever-changing needs of our customers to help properly position for sustained growth.

Physical Demands

This position frequently lifts heavy objects and/or up to 80 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively lifts and carries heavy loads. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand, and arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. It also requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina. Seeing with the ability to read reports, data, statistics, and information on computer screens is required.
