Responsibilities
The Regional Director, Behavioral Health Services is a clinical managerial role offering direction and supervision of behavioral health staff including evaluates processes, procedures, and workflows; includes seeing participants for clinical behavioral health interventions including initial assessments, diagnostic clarification, chart review, and treatment recommendations reflective of scope of practice and licensure. This newly created position is a commitment to expanding our internal behavioral health infrastructure; and, will work in collaboration with the Vice President of Behavioral Healthcare and center-based leadership to ensure the achievement of performance goals regarding quality, compliance, resource management and customer service within the (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) PACE program.
Region: East, covering centers across PA, VA and FL; West covering centers across CA, CO and NM
Direct Reports: Behavioral Health Care Coordinators, Behavioral Health Providers & Psychiatric NPs
Reports to: VP, Behavioral Healthcare

Posted Salary Range
USD $124,900.00 - USD $146,600.00 /Yr.

You will:
- Confidently navigate ambiguous situations

- Will be a liaison between clinical teams and executive/regional leadership
- Adapt to meet participant and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) clinical needs in real time , leveraging personal strengths.
- Be open to feedback and able to reflect productively.
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychotropic medications as well as Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5TR) criteria
- Strives for best practices with clinical performance outcomes and quality measurements.
- Collaborates with leadership across departments , regions, and enterprise to implement consistent policies , procedures , and culture .
- Monitors compliance with state regulations, applicable licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements and maintains regulatory oversight plan.
- Collaborates with IDT and operations to improve outcomes and address service utilization .
- Reviews behavioral healthcare documentation for quality and compliance
- Provides clinical expertise to support behavioral healthcare staff and train IDT.
- Leads by example as coach and mentor to team members.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Completes employee performance reviews and coaches team members for success.
- Co-manage the assessment and treatment of psychiatric, psychosocial, and behavioral health changes with a solution focused approach and in consultation with IDT.
- Collaborate with IDT to guide behavioral interventions that will be reinforced in medical visits.
- Support de-escalation at the participant , facility, and staff level
- Facilitate and oversee referrals to external providers including psychiatrists and community mental health centers.
- Collaborates with IDT/external providers/caregivers to resolve participant behavioral complexities and reduce risk of an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
- Advises on region’s behavioral healthcare budget
- Develops and supports external behavioral health provider network and contracts.
TRAVEL
Estimated Percent of time Spent – approximately 30% to 40%
- Travel between local InnovAge worksites
- Overnight travel out of state
- An unrestricted license as a psychologist (PhD or PsyD), a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) or LMFT/LCSW in the home base state (and required to obtain licensure in all other states within 4 months of hire).
- If responsible f or the W est R egio n , must currently be licensed in California and if responsible for the E ast R egion , must currently be licensed in Virginia or Pennsylvania .
- 3+ yrs clinical experience if PMHNP, PhD, PsyD ( 7 + years if LMFT/LCSW)
- 3 + yrs managerial experience if PMHNP, PhD, PsyD ( 5 + years if LMFT/LCSW)
- 1+ yrs experience working with adults
- Strong understanding of health care quality outcomes and associated metrics
- Relevant integrated behavioral healthcare experience and/or training
- A doctoral degree in psychology ( PhD or PsyD) (emphasis in integrated care) and/or doctorate in nursing (emphasis in clinical practice/knowledge of psychotropic medication management).
- 1+ yrs experience working within geriatrics
- Bi-lingual
