Job Summary
- Supervises Radiology services including Diagnostic Imaging and Ultrasound
- Troubleshoots and operates radiology equipment as necessary to ensure operational efficiency
- Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to employees to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals
- Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT (computerized topography) scanner, or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) equipment, evaluates accuracy and quality of images. Provides technical assistance when needed
- Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff
- Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements
- Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment and makes recommendations concerning department operating budget
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served
- Approximate percent of time required to travel 5%
- Must read, write and speak fluent English
- Must have good and regular attendance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education
- Graduate from an accredited institution in medical radiography
- The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
- Current BLS certification
- State certifications/licensure as required by the state in which employed
- Minimum 3 years Radiologic Technology experience in acute care setting required
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred
