Job Title: Product Metallurgist/Quality Systems Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Product Metallurgist/Quality Systems Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical in enhancing our product quality while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary metals, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold a safe work environment for both oneself and team members.
  • Provide expert technical support to our customers and sales team regarding product quality and related claims.
  • Collaborate with various departments to follow up on quality claims and ensure prompt resolution for clients.
  • Assist customers by delivering accurate test reports and meeting their requirements.
  • Oversee all audits related to ABS, ISO, DOTs, and manage the internal audits of the quality system.
  • Update and input steel grade chemistries as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Strong technical expertise in metallurgy or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills for developing constructive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing databases.

Qualifications

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Steel Production is highly preferred.
