Our fast-paced manufacturing firm is seeking a Quality Control Technician. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team within a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role has 6 months experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail, has excellent attendance and is committed to workplace safety. We offer excellent medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as retirement benefits, PTO and paid holidays. This position is at our Plastic Technology Plant in Hickory, NC. This is a 3rd shift position, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
- Review production schedule and check with lead to see when production next change will be on each line.
- For each line Pull run sheets, specification sheets, gms per foot sheets, tooling and support equipment for next change over. This will be done for each line. Look ahead and continue to puller information in advance and stage for extruder operators
- Interprets specifications and assures finished parts meet customer expectations.
- Uses calipers, tape rules, and other measuring devices to assure parts meet expectations.
- Records and documents extruder and finished parts data.
- Make certain that the Management System is established, implemented, maintained, and its effectiveness is continuously improved.
- Assist in maintaining records for internal quality audits, CAR/PAR program, and management review.
- Monitor and measure product compliance to customer requirements to be sure customer’s expectations are met and daily duties are performed in a timely manner.
- Develop and facilitate the approval process of procedures and work instructions and other documentation to support the management system.
- Communicate the quality policy to all people at the facility.
- Collect data and generate reports to maintain information board(s).
- Ensure that timely quality checks are performed per our quality plans.
- Make recommendations by notifying supervisor, to correct problems that could hinder a machine’s performance, reduce output, or affect quality.
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Conform to all Quality/Safety requirements and procedures.
- Keep a clean and orderly workplace.
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process for manufacturing and business processes.
- Particpate in continuous Improvement Process for manufacturing and business processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Attention to detail is essential
- Must have above average math and communication skills.
- Must have average computer skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret product drawings (spec sheets)
- Must be able to read and interpret dial calipers.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and other shifts temporarily if necessary.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point) advanced experience required
- Must be able to use Measuring Equipment and Computer Software
- Must be able to work area temperature of 27 - 110 degrees F
- Must be able to adhere to Company Policies
- Must be able to perform other duties as deemed by management
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
