Purchasing Assistant

Summary

SUMMARY: Provides support/assistance to the team of Buyers .

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

• Runs reports and extracts data, presenting results to Buyers and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Maintenance of records – both paper and electronic.
• Responsible for expediting orders and tracking back-ordered items, including obtaining Proofs of Delivery (POD).
• Assists in the identification and selection of substitute items for back ordered or discontinued items.
• Resolves invoicing issues.
• Documents savings; vendor information; vendor performance; etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Required Experience: Two years administrative experience.

Preferred Experience: Purchasing/Buyer, Supply Chain or Logistics experience within a Healthcare environment.
