Merchology seeks a Purchasing Agent for our Customer Service team. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Purchasing Agent is a critical role that will communicate with suppliers and issue purchase orders to procure products for customer orders and company operations. This position will be important for meeting customer needs with quick turnarounds from vendors.

Merchology seeks a Purchasing Agent for our Customer Service team. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Purchasing Agent is a critical role that will communicate with suppliers and issue purchase orders to procure products for customer orders and company operations. This position will be important for meeting customer needs with quick turnarounds from vendors.
A successful Purchasing Agent will:
- Work with Merchology and our brand partner Zusa to submit purchase orders to external brand partners efficiently and accurately for production of items at one of our three decoration facilities
- Notify Customer Service team of out-of-stock items, delayed items, or delivery timing concerns based on order requirements; adjust PO as necessary to ensure fulfillment according to required timeline
- Validate supplier order acknowledgement and pricing, follow up as necessary with supplier for shipment confirmations
- Monitor open and past due purchase orders while working with suppliers to expedite and resolve order issues
- Work with accounting to ensure proper payment and credits for any billing issues
- Work with Merchandising department to supply feedback about supplier performance
- Complete other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, efficient, communicative and collaborative
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- A sense of urgency with time critical turnaround requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of Hubspot, Shopify, Slack a plus
