SJ Janis Company Inc. is hiring an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in residential carpentry and remodeling. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter with a sharp eye for detail, especially in finish work, who also excels at managing trade partners, communicating with clients, and driving projects to successful, on-time completion. As the bridge between our team and the client, you'll ensure each project runs smoothly, stays on schedule, and meets our high standards of craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of residential remodeling projects-from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Coordinate and oversee trade contractors and ensure specifications are met.
  • Track project schedules, address delays, and report weekly status updates.
  • Conduct weekly on-site client meetings and maintain accurate meeting notes.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, designers, sales consultants, and production managers.
  • Monitor change orders, estimates, and plan modifications.
  • Ensure jobsite safety, OSHA compliance, and adherence to SJ Janis procedures.
  • Provide hands-on support for rough and finish carpentry work as needed.
  • Conduct punch list walkthroughs and ensure warranty items are resolved before completion.
  • Demonstrate products and maintenance tips at the final client handoff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and building residential remodeling projects.
  • Expert in rough and finish carpentry, including cabinetry, doors, and windows.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, client communication, and trade partner coordination.
  • High level of attention to detail-especially in finish carpentry.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using construction software (BuilderTrend experience is a plus).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
