Job Description:

Project Manager I is responsible for planning and implementing smaller, less complex projects from sales order acknowledgment through final customer acceptance and is the point of contact for customers. Provides project updates to both internal and external customers to manage expectations and validate timelines from order acceptance through final acceptance in the field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with the project team and customer to define project scope, goals, risks, and deliverables.
  • Define roles, required tasks, and resources, and work with leaders to allocate resources.
  • Coordinate and lead the risk burndown kick-off and facilitate follow-up meetings.
  • Manage the project team and run MCR project meetings.
  • Track, analyze, and regularly report on the project budget.
  • Plan project schedule and communicate project scope to the team.
  • Prepare, schedule, and lead Integrated Planning Sessions (IPS) and follow through on the IPS throughout the life of the project including but not limited to team requirements, third-party services, parts, onsite communication plans, safety, service kick-off, SAT’s, customer wrap-up meetings, and open issues communication plans.
  • Track and ensure completion of deliverables.
  • Regularly communicate progress, problems, and viable solutions to customers.
  • Oversee timely invoicing per contract terms.
  • Oversee post-shipment start-up and Site Acceptance Test to ensure customer needs are clearly understood and acknowledged.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or an associate degree and three years of progressively responsible experience in an OEM environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accepted best practice project management techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of project management software tools such as MS Project or SmartSheet
  • Experience using Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and SharePoint
  • Formal project management training or certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
