We are presently seeking a Program Manager to lead project teams to ensure effective execution of strategic NPI projects of all sizes (small, medium, large) and manage budget, schedule, and deliverables towards a volume production handoff
Main Responsibilities
Pay Range: $138,600- $153,300 annually, depending on experience
Our facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings, and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.
This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology, and an extensive in-house metrology lab.

We are presently seeking a Program Manager to lead project teams to ensure effective execution of strategic NPI projects of all sizes (small, medium, large) and manage budget, schedule, and deliverables towards a volume production handoff
Main Responsibilities
- Manage technically and logistically complex programs. Responsible for delivering on time, to specification, and at planned cost.
- Create a timeline for each project and actively manage and report performance against the timeline.
- Create a budget for each project with the tools provided by Finance and actively manage and report performance against the budget
- Coordinate activities with engineering, supply chain, and operations organizations to position for success on the project.
- Serve as primary customer interface for assigned projects, providing superior support and effectively managing demanding customers.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks.
- Leverage relevant technical knowledge to ensure that technical investigations and developments remain well-aligned with the overall project goals.
- Achieve results while reinforcing the company’s cultural beliefs and maintaining a chain of accountability.
- Lead each project team and navigate each project through the phase gate review process for the relevant phases (Initiate, Feasibility, Design, Prototype, Pilot, Production)
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS in Engineering or Science is a plus.
- 5+ years of technical project management experience preferred.
- 2+ years optics/photonics experience preferred.
- Project Management (PMP) certification strongly preferred. Uncertified candidates will be expected to commit to pursuing certification.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experienced with MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Configuration Management Systems, ERP systems
- Skilled in managing a diverse range of personnel assigned to program in a matrix organization
- Ability to effectively multitask and operate independently, solving problems hands-on when appropriate.
