About The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing the planning and scheduling of materials, work orders, and production processes to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize shop floor efficiency. You’ll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure a seamless production flow.

About The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing the planning and scheduling of materials, work orders, and production processes to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize shop floor efficiency. You’ll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure a seamless production flow.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain all planning and scheduling functions in the ERP system to support production requirements and inventory control.
- Create, release, and manage work orders for multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) across various production workflows.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervisors to balance workloads, resolve capacity constraints, and prevent production delays.
- Initiate and manage purchasing requisitions and updates to purchase orders for materials and services.
- Track material shortages and maintain accurate inventory levels for the Bond Room and shop floor.
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies related to vendor packing slips, material receipts, and inventory records.
- Issue materials to the production floor to ensure consistent workflow and timely execution.
- Incorporate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and other process updates into planning documentation.
- Support drop-ship material processes, including stock requisitioning and order tracking.
- Keep accurate records of job orders, lot numbers, and purchase order delivery schedules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure alignment across operations.
- Assist in preparing for and supporting internal and external audits related to planning and material control.
- Associate degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a High School diploma and 5+ years of directly related planning or scheduling experience.
- +3 years of experience in ERP systems, materials planning, and production scheduling.
- +3 years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- +3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or other high-precision industries.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or related training.
- Understanding of MRP transactions, inventory control, and capacity planning principles.
- Familiarity with Engineering Change processes and shop floor operations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptable and resourceful, with strong problem-solving abilities.
