Job Summary
This position will conduct R&D Testing for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining projects, develop test plans/procedures/processes, investigate field issues, and provide high level documentation and analysis. This individual will work closely with Test Technicians, Engineering Teams, and other Cross-Functional groups to ensure successful qualification of Pfister products.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Pay Range: $69,683 to $109,502.
This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.

This position will conduct R&D Testing for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining projects, develop test plans/procedures/processes, investigate field issues, and provide high level documentation and analysis. This individual will work closely with Test Technicians, Engineering Teams, and other Cross-Functional groups to ensure successful qualification of Pfister products.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on testing for plumbing consumer products.
- Design and construct testing equipment used to analyze life-of-product, reliability and functionality.
- Develop testing processes and procedures used to qualify products at both design and manufacturing stages of life.
- Support field issue investigation, evaluate product, and provide documentation of findings.
- Ensure accurate documentation, record and archive measurement data pertaining to product parameters and process control performance.
- Participate in the creation of product validation test plans and product compliance certification.
- Manage preventative maintenance (PM) and equipment calibration schedules.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 1-3 years of job experience as a Test Engineer.
- Experience working with mechanical & electronic security hardware, plumbing hardware and commercial hardware is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of consumer products testing and validation.
- Experience with developing procedures and test instructions with an emphasis on repeatability and reproducibility. Understands design of experiment (DOE) process.
- High level of analytical reasoning, problem solving and process improvement techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with previous hands-on test experience.
- Experience working with electrical/mechanical test benches (automated life cycle stations, impact/destructive testing, hydro flow benches.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) a plus.
- Familiarity with ANSI/ASME, UL, and IAPMO standards is a plus.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional department environment.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
