WHAT DOES THE PROCESS TRANSFORMATION LEAD DO?
Reporting to the EVP, Technology, this role will work to modernize business processes across Finance, Production, Account, Sourcing, Warehousing, Logistics, and IT. While IMS is primarily cloud-based, many legacy workflows remain reliant on spreadsheets, manual entry, and our IBM-based ERP system. This role will identify, design, and implement AI and automation initiatives that reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and create new revenue-generating capabilities.

The salary range for this job is $120k to $160k - The salary range provided in this job posting is an estimate based on market data and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined based on knowledge, skills, experience, location, and other relevant factors such as certain certifications that may be desired for this role.

This role will identify, design, and implement AI and automation initiatives that reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and create new revenue-generating capabilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analyze and document business processes across all departments by shadowing, reviewing documentation, and interviewing stakeholders.
- Map and evaluate workflows to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
- Rank opportunities based on potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain an AI & automation roadmap with prioritization for maximum ROI.
- Select tools and platforms that fit IMS and Omnicom requirements, preparing cost-benefit analyses to justify new tool adoption.
- Collaborate with development and API teams to create reusable integration points for automation workflows.
- Design, build, and deploy automation solutions using tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, and custom development.
- Integrate AI capabilities, including GPT models, chatbots, and document processors, into business processes.
- Test, validate, and monitor solutions for performance and reliability.
- Document frameworks, processes, and solutions to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Act as the go-to AI authority for IMS, advising on technical solutions, governance, and strategy.
- Coordinate and lead internal AI training programs:
- AI Town Hall – fun, informal sessions for all AI users to share updates and successes.
- SME Stakeholder Sessions – formal meetings with department subject matter experts to surface and evaluate opportunities.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the EVP Technology and monthly summaries for senior leadership.
- Measure and report on automation success, including hours saved, FTE equivalents, and real-world cost savings.
- Drive the development of IMS’s API and automation capabilities into potential commercial products
- Strong process mapping and business analysis expertise, with a track record of improving workflows and efficiency.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, to deliver integrated technical solutions.
- Proficiency in automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with ERP systems (IBM-based preferred) and modernizing legacy business processes.
- Skilled in developing ROI models and cost-benefit analyses for automation initiatives.
- Practical experience implementing AI and automation solutions in a business environment.
- Hands-on use of generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI GPT models) and integration into operational workflows.
- Experience connecting AI tools to APIs, including ChatGPT Actions or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with Python or other programming languages to support automation and AI projects
