WORK SCHEDULE:

2nd Shift (M-F, 2:00pm - 10:30pm)

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Manufacturing Process Technician is responsible for the set-up and proper startup of production tools, in-process support, and completion of production jobs to meet customer requirements and business objectives.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate machines maintaining productivity, efficiency and product quality.
• Put safety first. Ensure employees are working safely and all safety measures and procedures are being met and followed. Including good housekeeping.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must comply with the company’s quality system, GMP, SOP and follow Work Instructions and all safety policies.
• Must be able to meet all company documentation requirements.
• Setup and startup of production jobs. Troubleshoot in-process jobs to ensure product quality and delivery.
• Proper maintenance and handling of customer tools, machines, equipment, and materials.
• Meet production performance metrics including, but not limited to, efficiency, scrap/rejects, downtime, customer returns.
• Investigate and analyze production jobs that do not meet performance standards.
• Adherence to GMP, ISO, and organizational SOPs.
• Enforce and support safe work conditions throughout production.
• Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors and production staff on issues that affect team performance or customer service.
• Work with other departments, such as Quality and Engineering, to resolve issues with in-process jobs.
• Effectively communicate to management issues with shift performance (i.e. system, tool, equipment, etc.)
• Actively promote root cause analysis and corrective action on reported breakdowns in existing systems and processes.
• Must be safety conscious and work in a safe manner at all times. Follow all safety rules and standards.
• Maintain clean working environment throughout production areas.
• Other duties as assigned needed to help drive our Vision, Mission, and Values.
  
  

EXPECTATION

• Develop skills to perform basic, repetitive and manual activities in the job.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
• Master all requirements of Process Technician I in order to advance to Process Technician II.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• APICS certification a plus
  
  

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Minimum of three years in injection molding manufacturing environment
• Experience in a contract manufacturing environment preferred
  
  

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in injection molding process techniques
• Strong analytical skills: must possess the ability to analyze data, and draw conclusions
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work as a team
• Ability to do repetitive work
• Ability to read, understand and follow specification sheets
• Basic mathematical skills to understand variation
• Proficiency with PC-based software applications, including ERP and spreadsheets
• Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Light work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
• Excellent vision & hand-eye coordination
• Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting
• Significant use of hands
• Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
• Protective eyewear
• Hair net
• Protective gowning (lab coat, hood)
